25 Weird, Awesome & Cool GuitarsGuitarSpotting
I think we can probably agree that all guitars are cool. So what we’re looking for here are weird, awesome, cool guitars that really strike a chord.
We compiled a list of 25 of the most interesting and unique guitars we could find, covering a wide range of styles and shapes.
So what are you waiting for? Let’s go check ’em out!
1. Chrome Guitar
Chrome has been used in guitar design for a long time, so this seems like a good place to start. Of course, it’s usually small parts like tuners or the bridge that are made of chrome, not the entire guitar. But that’s what makes this one so awesome!
2. Steampunk Guitar
Steampunk is pretty popular these days, so it’s not surprising to find a few guitars out there made in this style. This one’s pretty elaborate, and it looks great, too.
3. Prince Guitar
If you stop and think about musicians with weird guitars, it probably won’t take too long till you get to this guy. Unbelievably talented musician, who also happened to like playing weird, awesome, cool guitars.
Prince, we miss you already.
4. Multi-Neck Guitar
We’ve seen multi-neck guitars before, but this one takes the cake! Cheap Trick’s lead guitarist Rick Neilsen looks at your puny double-neck guitar with its sad, two little necks, and just shakes his head.
It was most likely originally designed for an octopus, but whatever. We’re still pretty sure Rick can play it.
7. Snakeskin Guitar
While we’re on the subject of animal-themed guitars, check out this snakeskin design. Awesome guitar, and extremely well-crafted. We might even be able to overcome our terrifying fear of snakes long enough to play it!
8. Mermaid Guitar
Is a mermaid an animal? Or a person? Guess that depends on, well, actually we have no idea what that depends on. Look, it’s both a human and a fish at the same time, alright? Stop asking so many questions.
This one also happens to be a beautifully crafted guitar.
To be honest, we’re not entirely sure what’s going on here.
You know when you’re getting a haircut, and the barber cuts off too much on one side, so they go ahead and make it the same length everywhere else, and pretend that they meant to do that? It kinda feels like that may have happened here. It’s definitely an interesting look, though.
Try doing that with an acoustic!
12. Unique Guitar
While we’re on the subject of not having any idea what’s going on, check this one out. Kind of want to call it a Moustache Guitar. Is that weird?
It’s definitely strange and cool, and also elegant and minimalist.
And the longer we look at it, the more we kind of want one.
17. Swiss Guitar
This would be a great guitar to own, because you could literally play anything you want, as badly as you want. What are they gonna say, that your music’s cheezy?
By the way, what do you call cheese that isn’t yours? Nacho cheese.
I know you probably groaned at that joke, and said to yourself, “You gotta brie kidding me.” But cut us a little slack, we have to write something here. I know we feel grate about it.
18. Steak Guitar
If you ever get a gig at a steakhouse, just play this guitar for a while, throw down a few riffs, spread some subliminal advertising, then announce that all steaks are 75% off. The cooks will love you, and you’ll be sure to get invited back!
19. Skateboard Guitar
Our lives are so busy, most people are multi-tasking all day. So why not at night, too? You use this guitar to play your gig, and then skateboard home. Think of all the money you’ll save in cab fare!
Also, we’ll bet that if you just walk up to the front gates at a Vans Warped Tour concert holding one of these, security will grab you and escort you directly onto the stage.
20. Jigsaw Guitar
This one’s pretty simple in its concept, but it just looks really cool. We are a little puzzled about how they pieced it together, though.
21. Skull Guitar
This one’s designed to be in your face. Plus, we couldn’t really finish a list of cool guitars without having a skull somewhere, right?
22. Neon Guitar
Next on the list is this neon glow-in-the-dark guitar. Because sometimes it can get a little dark on stage, but now you don’t even need a spotlight!
23. Weird Blue Guitar
To be perfectly honest, we aren’t really sure what the designer was going for here. What we do know, however, is that they totally nailed it!! It’s striking, it’s blue and it’s definitely a cool guitar.
24. Stone-Inlay Guitar
Pretty neat design, with Chrysocolla stone inlaid directly into the wood. It’s definitely got a unique look.
25. Claw Guitar
Last but not least, we’ll end on a high note. This one’s a bit of a more subtle design, but still very effective. Great placement of the guitar hole.
It’s definitely clever, and a very cool guitar. We’d certainly love to get our claws on it.
Looking at cool guitars is fun, but listening to them is even better. Check Out:
